our story

It all began on the evening of Nov 29th 2003, at former Chat Noir French Restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA. Brad approached me [Jana] and we instantly connected; it was love at first sight. The next 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of romance, growing pains, and adventures. We circled the globe, traveling to South America, Europe, and Asia. Then one night, Brad surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal. We made it official on August 23rd 2008 with an intimate wedding at a hip art gallery in Laguna Beach. A year later we finished redesigning our home in the beach village of Corona del Mar.

On May 18th, 2010, we were blessed with a sweet little miracle of our own, our baby boy Taj Leon. He stole our hearts and took our breath away! Then, 19 months later, his incredible little brother, Jax Franz, arrived on Christmas morning (December 25th) 2011. What an amazing gift we received! In an effort to slow down the clock and enjoy our beautiful family, in Spring of 2012, we sold our CA seaside home and moved across the country to our dream lake house in Brad's hometown of Bemus Point, a resort village on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York! Even though we are living a more slow paced life, we are living a life far from ordinary!

From the West Coast to the East Coast, our Grover family adventures continue! So won't you come along and join us on this journey of love, family, and travel we like to call our La Vida Grover!

CLYC 3rd annual Derby Party & Taj's class field trip



Lots of big planning went into this year's Derby Party- my first and last that I helped plan, decorate, volunteer, and attend, HA!  It was a ton of work, but we all did a great job, and I had by far my most favorite and most colorful hat flower design and coordinating dress!




My Toronto flower pot inspiration found its way to Bemus Point Village, 
when I volunteered and helped the beautification committee plant and display these pots all over town!

Taji's Kindergarten Spring field trip to the Audobon Nature Center in Jamestown.  I didn't know back then, but this was my last school field trip I was able to attend with my Taji-poo  (as a volunteer and parent.)

Babi Visits & Toronto Girl Time




In April, I drove out to NYC for a quick 24 hour turn-around solo trip to continue the processing of my CZ citizenship and Czech passport (Consulate appointment), had a girl's dinner with Dina at an amazing Greek restaurant, staying a hotel and then just before driving back to Bemus, I had a quick lunch with another friend in the city, Erin Hagstrom.

Then sometime mid-April,  Babi flew from Czech and on our her way to CA, she popped in to visit us for almost 2 weeks.  The boys and I picked her up from the airport in Toronto, and had a fun overnight in Niagara Falls!

Chautauqua Institution.... off-season, but Spring was beginning to break through.



Then a few weeks later, when she was en route back to Europe from CA, Babi made a stop in Toronto and I drove up to see her again- this time just Babi and daughter girl time!  I showed her around Toronto, we celebrated her birthday, had lunch, and then she hopped on plane to return back to Czech.








I absolutely live for and love special moments like these, meeting up in any part of the world, with my favorite people, and making unforgettable memories!
