our story

It all began on the evening of Nov 29th 2003, at former Chat Noir French Restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA. Brad approached me [Jana] and we instantly connected; it was love at first sight. The next 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of romance, growing pains, and adventures. We circled the globe, traveling to South America, Europe, and Asia. Then one night, Brad surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal. We made it official on August 23rd 2008 with an intimate wedding at a hip art gallery in Laguna Beach. A year later we finished redesigning our home in the beach village of Corona del Mar.

On May 18th, 2010, we were blessed with a sweet little miracle of our own, our baby boy Taj Leon. He stole our hearts and took our breath away! Then, 19 months later, his incredible little brother, Jax Franz, arrived on Christmas morning (December 25th) 2011. What an amazing gift we received! In an effort to slow down the clock and enjoy our beautiful family, in Spring of 2012, we sold our CA seaside home and moved across the country to our dream lake house in Brad's hometown of Bemus Point, a resort village on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York! Even though we are living a more slow paced life, we are living a life far from ordinary!

From the West Coast to the East Coast, our Grover family adventures continue! So won't you come along and join us on this journey of love, family, and travel we like to call our La Vida Grover!

Yum Yum Yum

Taj is an excellent eater! And although he may not like everything he tastes, he's a very good sport, as so open-minded and curious! Here's the latest on our food tasting journey:

butternut squash= ney
sweet potato= ney
yams (with a little breastmilk mixed with it)= maybe
carrots (earth's best organic jarred)= YEY!
peas= ney (you can't tell in this pic because the second he's sees the camera he hams it up!)

he also likes munching on all-natural vegan teething biscuits (i like the St. Amour's French teething biscuits)

But above all, Taji LOVES his rice cereal mixed with breastmilk once in the morning and right before he goes to bed. He's even started doing a happy cheer (look for it in the video, it looks like he's cheering with his arms and saying "mmm")

Next up on our rainbow tasting menu...... green beans the next 3 days and then our very own organic spinach from our farm! I am sticking to my color veggie palate (yellows, oranges, and greens) before moving to the colorful fruit palate, since fruit is always sweeter and has more sugar than veggies). My hope is to expose Taji to as many healthy veggie tastes before moving on to the sweet stuff, which undoubtedly he will love :)

OK I'm all caught up now, i think..... phew, blogging feels like another job because its so hard to find time and keep up with how busy we have been! And its only going to get busier! We are starting December with a trip and ending the month with another trip. In between we have lots of holiday events and traditions to conquer.... but I promise I will dedicate time to post the latest happenings and special moments.... they may come all at once, blog post after blog post, in a fury, but one way or another they will get on here! (especially for our babi and deda in the Czech Republic!) Right Taji? right!

until next time.... ba-bye!
