our story

It all began on the evening of Nov 29th 2003, at former Chat Noir French Restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA. Brad approached me [Jana] and we instantly connected; it was love at first sight. The next 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of romance, growing pains, and adventures. We circled the globe, traveling to South America, Europe, and Asia. Then one night, Brad surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal. We made it official on August 23rd 2008 with an intimate wedding at a hip art gallery in Laguna Beach. A year later we finished redesigning our home in the beach village of Corona del Mar.

On May 18th, 2010, we were blessed with a sweet little miracle of our own, our baby boy Taj Leon. He stole our hearts and took our breath away! Then, 19 months later, his incredible little brother, Jax Franz, arrived on Christmas morning (December 25th) 2011. What an amazing gift we received! In an effort to slow down the clock and enjoy our beautiful family, in Spring of 2012, we sold our CA seaside home and moved across the country to our dream lake house in Brad's hometown of Bemus Point, a resort village on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York! Even though we are living a more slow paced life, we are living a life far from ordinary!

From the West Coast to the East Coast, our Grover family adventures continue! So won't you come along and join us on this journey of love, family, and travel we like to call our La Vida Grover!

First Beach Day of 2012

It was the first weekend of March, and an entire weekend we spent outdoors relishing in the sunny warm 80 degree weather! First thing on the list on Saturday was a family shopping trip to Toys R'Us to buy Taj his first real remote control car! His new love these days is racing cars at home, and he loves the little remote control car my sister got him last year, so we decided he needed a cool one for outside as well! We drove over to Citrus Ranch Park in Tustin (one of my favorite parks in the OC because its surrounded by citrus trees), to try out the new hot wheels! Taj has another hobby now! This car goes so fast and flips around!

Let's just say, daddy was pretty stoked about the car too and kept stealing the remote from Taji!

The boys playing at the playground and going down the slide as mommy and Jax watched from the bench :)

After the sun went down we grabbed dinner at Red Robin (family restaurant) and realized it was our first dinner out by ourselves as a family of 4 (usually we always dine with family or friends when its all of us.) It was a wee bit crazy since Jax is more alert and woke up in the middle of dinner and wanted to be held and look around the insanely bright and loud restaurant (while Taji kept jumping out of his booster seat!)

The next day, Sunday, was an even warmer day, and you know what that means here in CDM where we have no air conditioning...... BEACH DAY! We took our double tandem stroller around town and pushed it down the hill to Little Corona beach where we enjoyed our first beach day of this year (don't be jealous my out-of-state and out-of-country friends/family!). It seems like we totally skipped over Winter and moved right into Spring, which we don't mind at all right now. We prefer to be outside anyway because we sure are running out of space at home!
It was Jax's first time at the beach, and in his adorable little board shorts and sun hat!

We stuck his tiny toes into the sand:
He loved his first beach experience, just like his older bro. Doesn't this picture look familiar? Took a similar one when Taj was this age, but he was sleeping (same blanket too!)

Family Pic: (hmmm, I guess Jax and I forgot to wear our sunglasses in this picture!)

Proud Daddy with his sons:
And look at our other little man, Taj in his new board shorts! He had so much fun playing, jumping, spinning, and dancing in the sand. He liked throwing around the football and soccer ball with daddy too.... but did not like falling in the cold ocean water!

This weekend Brad and I decided we were going to freeze time and keep Taj this age and Jax as a baby because we enjoy this stage of our family life sooo much! If only, right? Taj is at a very cute age, not a baby anymore but not quite a big boy either. He's right in the middle with his adorable sense of humor, and the things he repeats and says! And Jax, where do I begin! I always love having a baby in the house..... his sweet baby smell, and those incredible smiles and giggles. Our family is at a very happy place right now, with more good things to look forward to!
