our story

It all began on the evening of Nov 29th 2003, at former Chat Noir French Restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA. Brad approached me [Jana] and we instantly connected; it was love at first sight. The next 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of romance, growing pains, and adventures. We circled the globe, traveling to South America, Europe, and Asia. Then one night, Brad surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal. We made it official on August 23rd 2008 with an intimate wedding at a hip art gallery in Laguna Beach. A year later we finished redesigning our home in the beach village of Corona del Mar.

On May 18th, 2010, we were blessed with a sweet little miracle of our own, our baby boy Taj Leon. He stole our hearts and took our breath away! Then, 19 months later, his incredible little brother, Jax Franz, arrived on Christmas morning (December 25th) 2011. What an amazing gift we received! In an effort to slow down the clock and enjoy our beautiful family, in Spring of 2012, we sold our CA seaside home and moved across the country to our dream lake house in Brad's hometown of Bemus Point, a resort village on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York! Even though we are living a more slow paced life, we are living a life far from ordinary!

From the West Coast to the East Coast, our Grover family adventures continue! So won't you come along and join us on this journey of love, family, and travel we like to call our La Vida Grover!

Peanut

Our Peanut.

He is truly one of a kind!  He may be small, but he is FIERCE and big in personality!

He is the tough and strong one of the Grover brother pea pod as well!  Peanut will tackle, wrestle, and pin Taji down in an instant.  Must be in the genes, he is definitely a future wrestler!  Our Peanut is very very finicky when it comes to eating, but on occasion he will hoard every bit of food and gobble it down without breathing….. almost like he hasn't eaten for days!  May I add that he is very addicted to kefir?? He needs it in the morning, after nap, at dinner….. if he could, he would be on a strictly liquid kefir diet!  He calls it his "squeezie fruit".  I hope one day he will be the tall and large one of the two, then I can say "remember when Peanut would barely eat, and was this little?"

Peanut is funny.

Witty.

Sneaky.

He is quite the antagonist!

He has his little quirks….. he rocks himself to sleep…

He needs 500 buddies with him at all times…. takes off his socks and shoes EVERY TIME we are in the car, …. and has to do everything independently!  He will even go back and redo what you have done for him, just so he can do it himself!

He may one day be a keg stand professional and impress his fraternity brothers, since he is extremely talented drinking his sippy cup without hands.  But what is most impressive about Peanut's abilities is how amazing he is with his fine motor skills and puzzles!  He completes every puzzle in a flash…. his 26 letter ABC puzzle, give him a minute and he will have all the pieces in!  Stickers? Oh yes, he can spend an hour peeling the teeny tiniest stickers and decorating himself with them.

Peanut is very patient….. when he wants to be.

He also enjoys reading to himself…                    (video of Jax (at 21/ 22 months) reading. and is obsessed with DORA the Explorer.

He is her biggest fan!  He also loves singing!!

But above all, Peanut is a cuddle bug!  He loves to hug and kiss, and chases after his brother to plant one on him.  He is STILL mama's boy, and will forever be if I can have my way!
Did I mention how much Peanut loves his older brother 'Walnut'?  SO MUCH!  The two are inseparable to this day, and they are more attached to the hip and conspire mayhem every year they get older!

Silly Jax:
