I knew when we returned from our 3 weeks in CA to our snowy home in NY that we would be at the bitter cold end of winter. I also knew that its no walk in the park to transition from warm climate to cold climate, and psychologically, its a major adjustment. March and April (especially this past 2014) are especially difficult months weather-wise. This is the time period we (or maybe just I) start really really missing the GREEN! The green trees, grass, flowers…. even with the snow melting it takes a loooong time for the leaves to grow back on the trees and to see the gorgeous nature we moved out here for! Mama and kids needed their GREEN fix again, and that is why this mama had a plan, (and another trip up her sleeve), upon returning from the West Coast!!! We are fortunate to have friends all over the place, and my good friend Lesley (whose daughter Charley is Taj's favorite friend…. his special girlfriend!) invited us to come visit them in Charleston, South Carolina. So on April 6th, while daddy Brad caught up on work, the boys and I went on a "green" adventure, this time to the charming South!
The cutest, and most well-mannered travel companions this mama could ever ask for! This was our first airplane trip together without daddy, and the boys were a dream!
Plantation fun...

Lesley was the most amazing hostess! She gave us the perfect tour around Charleston and took us to the prettiest historic sites. The boys loved seeing their first alligators, and loved the other critters and lizards as well! Taj even got to go to Charley's preschool on one of the days! We saw gorgeous live oak plantations, the first settlement of the South, historic and super charming Charleston along with a horse and carriage ride, alligator swamp ride, and even played on the beach of Sullivan's Island! Phew! I personally enjoyed the sweet tea (mixed with Vodka, ha ha!) and really miss the yummy Carolina Stew! The boys had a blast playing with the girls, they always manage to have fun no matter where we go or what we do. Charleston is definitely one of those places we will return to with daddy!
