our story

It all began on the evening of Nov 29th 2003, at former Chat Noir French Restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA. Brad approached me [Jana] and we instantly connected; it was love at first sight. The next 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of romance, growing pains, and adventures. We circled the globe, traveling to South America, Europe, and Asia. Then one night, Brad surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal. We made it official on August 23rd 2008 with an intimate wedding at a hip art gallery in Laguna Beach. A year later we finished redesigning our home in the beach village of Corona del Mar.

On May 18th, 2010, we were blessed with a sweet little miracle of our own, our baby boy Taj Leon. He stole our hearts and took our breath away! Then, 19 months later, his incredible little brother, Jax Franz, arrived on Christmas morning (December 25th) 2011. What an amazing gift we received! In an effort to slow down the clock and enjoy our beautiful family, in Spring of 2012, we sold our CA seaside home and moved across the country to our dream lake house in Brad's hometown of Bemus Point, a resort village on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York! Even though we are living a more slow paced life, we are living a life far from ordinary!

From the West Coast to the East Coast, our Grover family adventures continue! So won't you come along and join us on this journey of love, family, and travel we like to call our La Vida Grover!

Halloween 2014- Trick or Treating & Parties

Turtle Power 2014!
Its the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Grover Family!

But first….. Taj's halloween trick or treating at his school, with his UPK class… (The Statue of Liberty is his teacher Mrs. Lewellen)

Taj's buddy Gavin

A couple nights prior to Halloween, we attended the Safety Village Halloween Fun Fair in Ashville.  Based on the weather, we knew that on Halloween Friday, it was expected to rain so we met with some friends the Wednesday before Halloween and went trick or treating at the fun fair.  The fun fair was designed with little ones in mind, it was a miniature village and the kids wouldn't have to walk so far to go trick or treating at all the miniature buildings and stores.  They even had a little train there.

Then on actual Halloween night, I made some special scary stuffed peppers for dinner, and while Jax stayed home with me to watch some Halloween cartoons, Taj and daddy braved the rain and took the golf cart out to trick or treat at our friends' houses in the village.  They even stopped off at the fire station, coffee shop, and market where they were passing candy out to the kids.  I think Brad was more excited to score some candy so he could steal it from Taji after he went to bed! :-)
On the first day of November, we got our first snowflakes!  You can't tell very well in this photo but it had started to snow and although it did not stick to the ground, it sure was beautiful and welcoming change to the season.

The Saturday evening right after Halloween, we attended the annual Nolan-Steen Halloween Barn party with our friends.  It was Disco themed so we pulled out bellbottoms (I actually sewed mine!), I donned the best ABBA costume I could put together, Brad afro-nized himself and we met up with friends and had a disco fever fun night!
