our story

It all began on the evening of Nov 29th 2003, at former Chat Noir French Restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA. Brad approached me [Jana] and we instantly connected; it was love at first sight. The next 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of romance, growing pains, and adventures. We circled the globe, traveling to South America, Europe, and Asia. Then one night, Brad surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal. We made it official on August 23rd 2008 with an intimate wedding at a hip art gallery in Laguna Beach. A year later we finished redesigning our home in the beach village of Corona del Mar.

On May 18th, 2010, we were blessed with a sweet little miracle of our own, our baby boy Taj Leon. He stole our hearts and took our breath away! Then, 19 months later, his incredible little brother, Jax Franz, arrived on Christmas morning (December 25th) 2011. What an amazing gift we received! In an effort to slow down the clock and enjoy our beautiful family, in Spring of 2012, we sold our CA seaside home and moved across the country to our dream lake house in Brad's hometown of Bemus Point, a resort village on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York! Even though we are living a more slow paced life, we are living a life far from ordinary!

From the West Coast to the East Coast, our Grover family adventures continue! So won't you come along and join us on this journey of love, family, and travel we like to call our La Vida Grover!

Boys On Skis- Jax's FIRST time SKIING

Jax learned to ski for the first time at Holiday Valley, in Ellicottville, in January 2015!  His instructor wasn't even aware it was his first time because he was so confident and care- free so she had him going on the magic carpet and skiing down teaching him how to make a "pizza" with his skis already in his first session.  It wasn't until his 3rd time going up on the magic carpet that he lost his balance and fell, and that put him in a bad mood and he didn't want to ski.  We caught up to him at the very end of his ski session and found him pouty, he didn't even want to put his skis back on for the photo!

About a week after that, I took the boys to the Peak and rented them skis and boots.  It was a warm and sunny Tuesday, perfect day for some ski practice.  I took the boys out on the little bunny hill, determined to create a positive ski experience for Jax since his last one ended on a bad note.  He did super!  He was super giggly the whole time and even laughed when he fell.  He didn't mind going fast on the skis but still needs a lot of practice doing his pizza.  Jax is a bit too young still this year, as he turned into a noodle and likes to lean on you instead of supporting himself and keeping balance.  He enjoyed going on and off the magic carpet.  I was very impressed with his enthusiasm!  I just love the video I captured of him skiing!

This was the first time both boys were on skis together, and got to see each other ski!  They really had fun, and I couldn't believe how much Taj has progressed in skiing.  This season, he attended about 3 more ski lessons, and at the last one he was moved up to the next level.  He skis and does the pizza, bends his legs for balance and stops all by himself! Next Winter, Taji will be in the Trailblazer group and get to take the pull-rope up the bunny hill and learn how to ski side to side.
