our story

It all began on the evening of Nov 29th 2003, at former Chat Noir French Restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA. Brad approached me [Jana] and we instantly connected; it was love at first sight. The next 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of romance, growing pains, and adventures. We circled the globe, traveling to South America, Europe, and Asia. Then one night, Brad surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal. We made it official on August 23rd 2008 with an intimate wedding at a hip art gallery in Laguna Beach. A year later we finished redesigning our home in the beach village of Corona del Mar.

On May 18th, 2010, we were blessed with a sweet little miracle of our own, our baby boy Taj Leon. He stole our hearts and took our breath away! Then, 19 months later, his incredible little brother, Jax Franz, arrived on Christmas morning (December 25th) 2011. What an amazing gift we received! In an effort to slow down the clock and enjoy our beautiful family, in Spring of 2012, we sold our CA seaside home and moved across the country to our dream lake house in Brad's hometown of Bemus Point, a resort village on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York! Even though we are living a more slow paced life, we are living a life far from ordinary!

From the West Coast to the East Coast, our Grover family adventures continue! So won't you come along and join us on this journey of love, family, and travel we like to call our La Vida Grover!

Beckham in-Training

Remember this little dude?
Fast forward 16 months...... here is our David Beckham Jr. ha ha! Who would have thought that at 19 months old, Taj would be our soccer star playing toddler soccer?! I don't mean to brag, but he really knows how to kick, and he gets the game! Everywhere we go, whether its the playground, field, or grassy area, if Taj has his soccer ball with him and is running around kicking it, we have people stop and stare and exclaim how good he is and how little he is to be doing so good with the ball! Taj's first day at soccer practice (through the City of Newport Beach Sports): He learned how to kick a goal!
learning some new skills....
playing the game....
Do we have a future soccer star on our hands? Maybe! Definitely a soccer player..... and probably an awesome athlete! Daddy has taught him football (he yells "touchdown" every time a game is on), basketball (he can shoot a basket with his toddler version ball and hoop), baseball (he has a good arm and aim), bowling (he will set up the pins and then roll the plastic ball at them..... he also likes to use our water bottles and oil/vinegar bottles from the pantry as "pins"), and then there is the obvious soccer! Like you can't tell this kid is obsessed with balls........ come to our house and witness 20 balls of different sizes and colors littering our hallways and living room!
Little brother Jax was so proud of his big brother..... he also wanted to join in the game, but he was just too pooped so he snoozed in the bassinet stroller!
After Taj's first soccer practice and game, we took him out for a smoothie!

Here are some other things he's also really good at these days.... the super student he is! At 19 months, he can count to 10 (omitting the number 5 for some reason ;))

and help mommy finish sentences in his books (early stage of reading?), and he knows his shapes!
