our story

It all began on the evening of Nov 29th 2003, at former Chat Noir French Restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA. Brad approached me [Jana] and we instantly connected; it was love at first sight. The next 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of romance, growing pains, and adventures. We circled the globe, traveling to South America, Europe, and Asia. Then one night, Brad surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal. We made it official on August 23rd 2008 with an intimate wedding at a hip art gallery in Laguna Beach. A year later we finished redesigning our home in the beach village of Corona del Mar.

On May 18th, 2010, we were blessed with a sweet little miracle of our own, our baby boy Taj Leon. He stole our hearts and took our breath away! Then, 19 months later, his incredible little brother, Jax Franz, arrived on Christmas morning (December 25th) 2011. What an amazing gift we received! In an effort to slow down the clock and enjoy our beautiful family, in Spring of 2012, we sold our CA seaside home and moved across the country to our dream lake house in Brad's hometown of Bemus Point, a resort village on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York! Even though we are living a more slow paced life, we are living a life far from ordinary!

From the West Coast to the East Coast, our Grover family adventures continue! So won't you come along and join us on this journey of love, family, and travel we like to call our La Vida Grover!

Goodbye 2011, HELLO 2012!

Goodbye 2011, what an incredible year you were! One son turned one years old, while another son was born! In between, we made many wonderful memories traveling to Colorado and New York, and took little family trips to San Diego, Los Angeles, Oak Glen, Catalina Island, Santa Barbara, Cambria, Monterey, and Carmel-by-the Sea. We visited zoos, aquariums, parks, gardens, farms, and even attempted Disneyland! We took trains, planes, boats, duffy boats, automobiles, and even rode around on bikes. We reunited with Brad's family while in New York and skyped with our Babi and Deda every chance we got. We had so much fun on playdates, and just spending time with family. At Taj's one year mark, Brad and I finally began "dating" again, dining out, overnights without the baby, and even a 4 night Palm Springs party weekend sans baby. And while mommy put her career on hold to focus on babies, daddy's business is booming more than ever. Every month of the year Taj kept surprising us and impressing us with his language skills and many talents, while at the end of the year (on Christmas Day exactly) we got the biggest surprise of all, the arrival of our second little stinker Jax. So to commemorate one pretty amazing year, we decided to dress up and have a little fabulous family party of 4 to ring in the next year. It seems like each year just keeps getting more and more exciting, I wonder what kind of excitement and adventure 2012 will bring us?! On NYE, Brad picked up yummy sushi, the boys dressed in coordinating outfits, I got the party hats and blowers, and even little Jax dressed in his finest tuxedo shirt. Here we caught him in the middle of a sleep smile:
The Grover boys in their matching red socks, grey jeans, and donning chic ties with their t-shirts (with the exception of baby Jax who had on his red bow tie!)
here are the ties if you look closely:
Taj stayed up to 9pm and we counted down to the new year east coast style, watching the ball drop live in NYC on TV. Taj enjoyed blowing the horn and watching the celebrations around the world on TV. Its so exciting to ring in the new year in a different part of the world, I still remember the breathtaking 30 minute fireworks show above Bangkok NYE 2009on our honeymoon in Thailand..... cannot wait to take the boys to exotic destinations for the New Year Eves to come!
