our story

It all began on the evening of Nov 29th 2003, at former Chat Noir French Restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA. Brad approached me [Jana] and we instantly connected; it was love at first sight. The next 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of romance, growing pains, and adventures. We circled the globe, traveling to South America, Europe, and Asia. Then one night, Brad surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal. We made it official on August 23rd 2008 with an intimate wedding at a hip art gallery in Laguna Beach. A year later we finished redesigning our home in the beach village of Corona del Mar.

On May 18th, 2010, we were blessed with a sweet little miracle of our own, our baby boy Taj Leon. He stole our hearts and took our breath away! Then, 19 months later, his incredible little brother, Jax Franz, arrived on Christmas morning (December 25th) 2011. What an amazing gift we received! In an effort to slow down the clock and enjoy our beautiful family, in Spring of 2012, we sold our CA seaside home and moved across the country to our dream lake house in Brad's hometown of Bemus Point, a resort village on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York! Even though we are living a more slow paced life, we are living a life far from ordinary!

From the West Coast to the East Coast, our Grover family adventures continue! So won't you come along and join us on this journey of love, family, and travel we like to call our La Vida Grover!

Mommy-Son Niagara Falls/ Aquarium Day!

The day after Thanksgiving, my boys and I went on our own special field trip, while daddy stayed home to get some things done around the house.  I love my special adventures with my boys!  At every age and stage, its a lot of fun!  Its also a major confidence boost as a mama juggling both boys.  I seriously can go anywhere and do anything with them solo...... just dare me!  On this particular mommy-son day, we drove about 1.5 hours to Niagara Falls, then the Aquarium!

Jax's first time at an aquarium!  He was fascinated by all the different fish and colorful plants.  He loved to stand and hold on to the glass and stare into each aquarium.  I think aquariums are so magical for the little ones, and therapeutic.  They can stare and be entertained for hours!

Penguins!

Then it was time to see the sea lion show!  The boys really enjoyed this :)

Another awesome day with my boys.  Another adventure we have to treasure and look back on.  Another activity for Taj to reminisce and talk about.... he was talking about the Falls and aquarium for days, and asking if we could go again!  The most crazy part of our trip?  It would have to be driving home back to Bemus Point in the dark and getting caught in a snowstorm!!!! Yup, maybe I freaked out a little bit....maybe it was a total adrenaline rush!  Since we moved to NY and began thinking about what it will be like when it begins to snow, one of my fears was driving in the snow...... like I have experience with that!!!  So of course, knowing my luck, I get to work through my fear unexpectedly.... driving solo...at night... AND with my two precious cargos in the backseat.  It was as extreme as you could get.  Brad coached me over the phone, via bluetooth, while i gripped the steering wheel and kept my eyes on the pavement yellow lines as white snowflakes frantically flew at the windshield.  Driving at night during snowfall is like flying through outer space in a space ship.  Try it sometime, and the Twilight Zone song will randomly play in your head on repeat!  Ha ha!  Long story short, we got through the snow storm, the boys were my cheerleaders, and once we pulled into our driveway and into our warm secure garage, I just about kissed the ground!  Well, at least, I overcame my fear!!!
