Our annual 4th of July celebration with our friends the Irons Family and Hricko Family. This has been the second year that we've celebrated it exclusively with the Irons and Hrickos, and we are keeping this our tradition! This year, all the mamas decided to go big and we started earlier, had a huge potluck feast including patriotic fruit skewers, appetizers, homemade potato salad, and Beef on Wick (a WNY style french dip sandwich). We had water play and playground for the kiddies, and they even received special sand buckets with 4th of the July patriotic toys, bubbles, glow sticks and treats. Last year, both Julie and Faith were pregnant, so this 4th of July we had two new additions to our crew of kids: Aubrey and Brody. That makes 6 boys and 1 girl total!! Poor Aubrey, being the only girl… hopefully she won't mind all the boy ruckus each year she gets older!
then, once it got dark, we headed down to the lakefront and set up for our bonfire and marshmallow roasting. We also lit the flares and cuddled on blankets, watching all the different fireworks from around the lake.
