From first day of school... to the last day of school! My, how much they grew in one year!!
Buffalo Brick Fest (aka Lego heaven)
This was the summer that the boys learned to be even more independent and helpful around the house. Trying to teach them that hard work pays off. They had fun washing my car, and helping with little chores around the house (they sorted and folded their laundry). And just in case one of them proclaimed "I'm bored!" mama had a beautiful little jar of popsicle sticks that had ideas of how "not to be bored." (Most were outdoor ideas, arts and crafts, reading and journaling, piano, and chores) It was important for boys to learn to be bored, so they could use their own imagination and creativity in coming up with activities and things to do rather than relying on mama planning everything for them. This was about the summer where we had ZERO camps or classes planned. After all, summer should be a break from schedules and routines, and the focus should be on time spent enjoying the outdoors, being creative and free, and learning to just PLAY.
