Week 34, and (minus the pelvic pressure, regular Braxton-Hicks, the right hand carpel tunnel, and left eye twitch) I feel great! ha ha! Hey, just like last time I always end up with some bizarre 3rd trimester symptoms, but anything is better than sciatica so I'm not complaining!! Even my heartburn is still at an all time low, however, I did have 2 random nights of acid reflux where I woke up feeling like I was choking and couldn't take a breath until I got out of bed! Ah, the joys of that final stretch of pregnancy..... if we don't suffer a little bit in discomfort then we don't appreciate the end :) The checklist of preparations for Jax's arrival (i.e., baby items, bedding, furniture, cute coordinating outfits, "take home" outfit, our stroller's duoseat attachment, etc.) is completed, invitations for the celebration dinner sent out, and we just had our family maternity photo shoot done (courtesy of friend and photographer extraordinaire Kristen Papac)! Here are some teasers of the Jax belly, but I have many adorable family pics to share in the next week!
Dear Baby Jax,Next month around this time (I just have this feeling you may make an earlier debut than expected) we will finally meet!! Today at my ObGYN appointment I literally had to beg my midwife to do an ultrasound so I could take another peek at your sweet little face. You were already head down, chin downwards in the ideal position for labor, and looking so cramped! Poor little guy, I know you are running out of room because my bladder feels like its going to burst all the time and I have this immense pelvic pressure. Sometimes when I stand up or walk I feel like you are going to slip out! I can tell you are excited and anxious to come into this world, you punch and kick so hard it sometimes looks like you are determined to kick your way out of my belly! As always, I enjoy watching your movements! The best ones are when I am holding your brother and his back is against my belly, you like kicking and poking at him from inside. Already teasing him and you aren't even out of the womb! Daddy likes to say "stinker #2 is on his way!", I know we will have our hands full with the two of you! Although you are impatient, please please continue to rest and grow in my belly, and I give you my promise that I will do my best to rest more, sleep more, stay off my feet, and nourish you with healthy salads, salmon, and eggs. In 2 weeks I get to hear your strong heartbeat again at my appointment, and then every week thereafter until we unite..... I love you, I treasure you.... you remind me of just how precious and beautiful the miracle of life is!
