our story

It all began on the evening of Nov 29th 2003, at former Chat Noir French Restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA. Brad approached me [Jana] and we instantly connected; it was love at first sight. The next 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of romance, growing pains, and adventures. We circled the globe, traveling to South America, Europe, and Asia. Then one night, Brad surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal. We made it official on August 23rd 2008 with an intimate wedding at a hip art gallery in Laguna Beach. A year later we finished redesigning our home in the beach village of Corona del Mar.

On May 18th, 2010, we were blessed with a sweet little miracle of our own, our baby boy Taj Leon. He stole our hearts and took our breath away! Then, 19 months later, his incredible little brother, Jax Franz, arrived on Christmas morning (December 25th) 2011. What an amazing gift we received! In an effort to slow down the clock and enjoy our beautiful family, in Spring of 2012, we sold our CA seaside home and moved across the country to our dream lake house in Brad's hometown of Bemus Point, a resort village on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York! Even though we are living a more slow paced life, we are living a life far from ordinary!

From the West Coast to the East Coast, our Grover family adventures continue! So won't you come along and join us on this journey of love, family, and travel we like to call our La Vida Grover!

Mommy-Son Zoo Day!

I'm such a lucky girl to be surrounded by so many doting boys.... especially my little ones who are always attached to me!  The time we spend together is priceless, and the adventures we get to go on, just the 3 of us.....those are precious AND adventurous!  Ever since Taj was a baby, I adore my mommy and son time.  Now I get double the mommy and son time, with the addition of Jax!  Its funny, even though Jax has his own sweet little personality, I get to relive so many baby moments I had with Taj.  Seeing Jax in some of Taj's little outfits is dejavue. Then to have 2 of them to giggle with and enjoy all this nature...... well, that is just a blessing! My favorite part is seeing them interact with each other when we are out and about.  They really are becoming best friends, and I will keep encouraging that as much as I can with the things that we do together.  After all, this is that precious time they have solely with each other before they are off to school and in separate grade levels.  The way I look at it, I am setting the foundation for brother love and family quality time.  I absolutely love my mom-son days, and will strive to keep doing this as the boys get older.

On this particular mommy-son day, last Wednesday, I had to drive up to Erie, PA to get my car serviced (closest BMW is about 45 minutes away!) so I thought since we have to go to Erie, why not take the boys to my favorite zoo?  Erie Zoo is my favorite now because its not so big and overwhelming like the San Diego Zoo, and not rinky dinky like the Santa Ana Zoo....... Erie Zoo has all the cool animals, and its laid out in between gardens, but you can easily find your way around, and there are so many play areas for the little ones!  Its truly a preschooler's dream zoo!

 At the zoo playground.....

 Penguins!

Zoo animal carousel!  Since Taj now loves the carousel, we ride it wherever we go!  His favorite animal at the zoo?  Zebra!   So that meant, riding the zebra on the carousel!

The Zoo has a kiddie train that takes you through the zoo, and through a nature preserve full of deer..... but because we are in Autumn now, the kiddie train only operates on the weekends :(  So, Taj got his train time watching the miniature trains .... this was a favorite for him next to riding the real one.

Now this below, was my favorite part of the zoo, Mama Gibbon with her baby attached to her belly.  The mama Gibbon swung back and forth while her little baby clung to her for dear life!:

Taj cannot stop talking about this giant orangutan!  He was a little frightened at first when she came right up to the window, inches from our faces and knocked on the window... but then she puckered her lips and blew him a kiss, and he blew one right back!  It was awesome!

Mama and Jax.... and a zebra butt behind us! :)
