our story

It all began on the evening of Nov 29th 2003, at former Chat Noir French Restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA. Brad approached me [Jana] and we instantly connected; it was love at first sight. The next 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of romance, growing pains, and adventures. We circled the globe, traveling to South America, Europe, and Asia. Then one night, Brad surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal. We made it official on August 23rd 2008 with an intimate wedding at a hip art gallery in Laguna Beach. A year later we finished redesigning our home in the beach village of Corona del Mar.

On May 18th, 2010, we were blessed with a sweet little miracle of our own, our baby boy Taj Leon. He stole our hearts and took our breath away! Then, 19 months later, his incredible little brother, Jax Franz, arrived on Christmas morning (December 25th) 2011. What an amazing gift we received! In an effort to slow down the clock and enjoy our beautiful family, in Spring of 2012, we sold our CA seaside home and moved across the country to our dream lake house in Brad's hometown of Bemus Point, a resort village on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York! Even though we are living a more slow paced life, we are living a life far from ordinary!

From the West Coast to the East Coast, our Grover family adventures continue! So won't you come along and join us on this journey of love, family, and travel we like to call our La Vida Grover!

Road Trip Continued...... Thomas the Train Adventure

THOMAS!!!! Yes, we visited Thomas the train on our way back home to Bemus!  Taj couldn't stop talking about him before we got there, and now he asks about him all the time since we got back.  I researched this before planning our road trip and found out that Thomas the Train makes his way to the Strasburg Railroad only several times a year, and the weekend we went was his final and last one of the year!  Pretty special event, and it was even more special because we all got to ride him!  It was magical for the boys :)

Before we could get to the Strasburg railroad, the general public had to park in a nearby cornfield, and school buses would escort us to the event.  OH MY GOSH, this was just another icing on the cake for Taji!  He LOVES school buses! And semi-trucks, trash trucks, moving trucks, car carrier trucks, fire trucks...... you name it!  But he's never sat on a school bus before so this was a memorable 'first' for him, he was grinning from ear to ear!

When we arrived at the train station, guess who made his grand entrance?!!!

Our little conductor getting ready to board the train

There were all sorts of train related activities for the wee ones, including the "cranky cars" that the kids have to wind to ride..... Taj was so good at this, strong muscles :)

The boys' 'first' tattoos!!!  (temporary Thomas train tattoos)

We get 'em tatted early around here...... ha ha!  Jax's first tattoo at age 9 months :)

train tables galore

What a fun day for the boys!!! Definitely see ourselves coming back here again, and even staying at the Red Caboose!  (its a train hotel, meaning every train caboose is a room fully equipped with beds and bathroom!)  Can you imagine what an experience that would be for little boys, to get to sleep in a real train caboose??
