Every mama deserves a day with the girls in a limo, wine-tasting! Meet my NY friends! Amanda (on the far left) invited me to a wine-tasting tour with fellow friends Kristina, Julia, Wendy, and new friend Jackie. The girls picked me up Sunday morning and we headed out for a 7 hour wine tour on the Lake Erie Wine Trail. I can't wait to do this with our family and friends when they come out to visit!
1st Winery: Woodbury Vineyards
We got a souvenir wine glass! Favorites were Cabernet Franc, Seaport White (good for refreshing summer Sangria mix), Niagara (pairs well with buffalo wings LOL!), and Blueberry fruit wine.
Me & Kristina
2nd Winery: Willow Creek Winery
Check out the sign on the wall: "Wino Way"! Ha! They had good specialty red chocolate wines Chautauqua Chocolate and Sweet Temptation. Only place that served the wine samples in plastic cups! Eeek.
3rd Winery: Merritt Vineyards
Reminiscent of Paso Roble (Santa Barbara) wineries. They had an excellent red called the Masterpiece.
Fun in the limo!
4th Winery: Another favorite, 21 Brix Vineyards
Can't remember the wines for some reason..... hmmm maybe I was tipsy at this point, they all began tasting the same!!! The winery was very hip though, and very busy!
with Amanda
Had to stop and take a "Wino" photo moment at Barcelona Beach:
5th Winery: Johnson Estate Winery
Popular with the locals, they have a great mulled Red wine! I think its funny the camera appears to be feeling the same way as us.... a bit blury-eyed :)
Yep, this is where we decided we should stop off for some Chinese food to help soak up all the wine in our bellies! We had tons of snacks, chocolate, fruit, water in the limo...... you name it, we snacked on it. Most wineries gave out 6 tastings each, so do the Math and you can imagine what we felt like after 5 wineries!
Our final stop...
6th Winery: Noble Winery
Views of Lake Erie. Very romantic, we saw 2 couples with a bottle of wine pick nicking on the grass and feeding each other cheese and grapes!
Obviously after the Chicken Chow Mein, I was ready for some dessert. 'Lo and Behold, their speciality.... PORT. Accompanied with a piece of chocolate, mmmmm that hit the sweet spot. I was sold, so I bought a bottle of course, to share with the father of my children and best hubby ever!
