Globe-trotting Grovers: Taj Turns FIVE! Ninjago Time!

our story

It all began on the evening of Nov 29th 2003, at former Chat Noir French Restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA. Brad approached me [Jana] and we instantly connected; it was love at first sight. The next 4 years that followed were a whirlwind of romance, growing pains, and adventures. We circled the globe, traveling to South America, Europe, and Asia. Then one night, Brad surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal. We made it official on August 23rd 2008 with an intimate wedding at a hip art gallery in Laguna Beach. A year later we finished redesigning our home in the beach village of Corona del Mar.

On May 18th, 2010, we were blessed with a sweet little miracle of our own, our baby boy Taj Leon. He stole our hearts and took our breath away! Then, 19 months later, his incredible little brother, Jax Franz, arrived on Christmas morning (December 25th) 2011. What an amazing gift we received! In an effort to slow down the clock and enjoy our beautiful family, in Spring of 2012, we sold our CA seaside home and moved across the country to our dream lake house in Brad's hometown of Bemus Point, a resort village on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York! Even though we are living a more slow paced life, we are living a life far from ordinary!

From the West Coast to the East Coast, our Grover family adventures continue! So won't you come along and join us on this journey of love, family, and travel we like to call our La Vida Grover!

Taj Turns FIVE! Ninjago Time!

Look at this handsome 5 year old!!! Every year I think, I can't believe Taj is turning this many years old. He is our first born child and an amazing son. Couldn't be prouder! He is just as perfect as they get. At 5 years of age, Taji is such a happy and patient boy. He loves his family (yes, he adores his little brother too), his friends, his teachers, and is just such a social butterfly. He is adaptable, creative, a deep thinker, and wears his heart on his sleeve. He still loves to sneak in our bed at night and cuddles with us every morning. He's witty, loves telling jokes and stories, and a funny negotiator. Taji loves responsibility and enjoys helping us with things, especially supervising his little brother. He comes up with all these awesome shows, loves to dance, and creates games/ play scenarios for his brother and friends. He is still devoted to his original and irreplaceable blue stuffed Puppy lovie, and although we have a rule that he's not allowed to take her out of the house, he cuddles and walks around with her day and night. Taji is a scaredy cat too, no matter what show he watches he continues to get nightmares…. its his analytical and deep thinking that always keeps him up at night! He is a big fish and loves to swim every chance he gets…. he swims so much that his goggles always leave an imprint on his face! One of his favorites is Legos, and what a builder he has become! His favorite thing to play with and to watch is Ninjago, so it was only fitting to celebrate his 5th birthday with a Ninjago themed party and ninja "training" at the boys' karate studio!
